During the early-to-mid 1800s, there was significant migration out of Newberry County to points west. In the 1828 - 1832 timeframe, my Gilbert line as well as numerous ancillary lines headed west to Giles County and Limestone County, AL. Below are various tidbits of information gathered from Newberry County books I have and also documents graciously sent to me by cousins who have visited Newberry County.
Ancillary lines to the Newberry Gilberts can be found in the descendant trees of brothers Caleb and Jonathan below and are Eichelberger, Case, Ziegler, Inman, Davenport, Davis, McNeary, Gauntt, Chandler, Reagin, Lewis, Weeks, O'Neall, Snellgrove and Adams.
