Ellijay and Atlanta, GA
November, 2006
The Browns were playing the Falcons in Atlanta, and Chris was
settled in his river roost in Ellijay. What was there to do but hop
on a plane and give Georgia a good kick? Jeff descended from Ohio,
and I followed suit from Baltimore. With Chris flying in from a
quick trip to Pittsburgh on the same day, we all met at the Atlanta airport on
Friday night.
We spent Saturday hanging around the roost, watching football,
checking out the Cartecay River and going on a little tour of Ellijay.
Below are some shots the roost and the beautiful surrounding scenery.

On Sunday, it was game day. We loaded up the Crown
Vic, or should I say, ONE of the Crown Vics, and headed down to the Georgia Dome
hoping we'd find some decent tickets to the game. With the football
ticket gods smiling upon us, we quickly bought 43 yard line tickets on the
street for face value and even got a parking pass for $10. It was
destined to be a good day! We got to our seats on the Browns' side of the
field, and the fun began!

After the game, we welcomed by some Falcons fans to join their
post-game festivities in the parking lot as we waited for the traffic to clear.
There were bbq's fired up and music blaring from a trailer. But most
significantly, the Wing King was present and cooking up his stellar wings!
They were the tastiest wings I've had in a long time, but that's not all he gave
us. He had us sample a hot sauce called "Da Bomb - Ground Zero."
I'm not sure I'll ever be the same, and I think Chris finally encountered a
sauce that was hot enough for him.

So that was the weekend in Georgia! Had a great
time and hope to go back next year when we can play on the river! Thanks Chris
for being the host with the most!
