Niagara Falls

So what do you do if you suddenly realize you have a free roundtrip ticket on Southwest Airlines that's about to expire and you have no time to take a few days and go somewhere? Well, you go to Buffalo of course!!! While I would never malign Buffalo under any circumstances given its culinary contribution to the world of chicken wings, I took this particular opportunity to use the Buffalo airport as a mere stepping stone to greater things to the north.
First of all, I'm ashamed to admit that I somehow reached the ripe old age of 42 without ever having set foot in Canada or ever seeing Niagara Falls. Granted that my little four hour visit to Canada today is just a scratch on the surface of what I need to see up there, but it's a start. And boy what a start! Seeing Niagara Falls in person is simply breathtaking. I couldn't help but imagine what the first explorers must have experienced when they first came upon the falls.
Below are some photos I took with my digital camera. The first few shots I took are from right outside the Table Rock Restaurant near Horseshoe Falls. As you can plainly see, the area is very "drizzly." If you go to the falls, be sure to go equipped with rain gear of some sort so you don't get drenched. The latter shots were taken as I walked away from Horseshoe Falls towards the American Falls where it wasn't drizzling.
